Анотація
The article is devoted to the tendencies of formation in the modern realities of Ukraine of a new kind of
legal coercive measures, which is characterized as information and legal responsibility. Based on examples of
implementation of instruments of European legislation into the Ukrainian legal system and examples of national
legal practice, the author formulates the definition of "information and legal responsibility" and highlights the
features of information and legal sanctions. It is noted that the key point in distinguishing between different types
of legal liability for information torts is the procedure and order for applying the relevant penalties. Coercive
influence on the subjects of information relations in modern conditions is due, in particular, to the need to protect
the national information space, through the use of legal mechanisms that help translate the declarative right of
information to the real state of civilized information freedom of public relations.
